According to lawyer Jesselyn Radack, Snowden's temporary asylum status in Russia will expire at the end of June, but it is likely to be extended.

Ms. Radack said: "It's clear he misses America and wants to come home. But we don't see that happening in the near future."

Snowden's lawyer also said that the U.S. Department of Justice has yet to review the charges against Snowden, brought last year, that he stole government property, illegally communicated national defense information, and intentionally transmitted classified intelligence to an unauthorized person. She stated, "If the Department of Justice wants to negotiate, we will be ready."
