Hanoi baby born weighing 500g still survives
The premature baby girl was breathing weakly and had an irregular heartbeat. She was saved by doctors at the Central Maternity Hospital.
After many years of infertility treatment, a young couple in Hanoi were overjoyed to learn that they had their first daughter. However, at 26 weeks of pregnancy, the mother went into premature labor. The baby weighed only 500 grams at birth, and her respiratory system was still very weak and incomplete. The baby was breathing weakly, had an irregular heartbeat, and had very weak reflexes, which was very dangerous.
The baby was monitored and given special care by doctors at the Neonatal Care and Treatment Center, combined with nutrition from breast milk. After more than three months of care, the baby weighed 2,650 grams, breastfed well, moved well and could be discharged from the hospital.

Dr. Le Minh Trac, Director of the Center for Neonatal Care and Treatment, Central Maternity Hospital said,This is not the first time the hospital has saved the lives of premature, low birth weight babies.Since 2010, the center has successfully raised a newborn weighing as little as 500 grams. The baby is now going to school and is in good health.2016 also at the center,Baby Tran Gau was born at 27 weeks, underweight, with hydrops fetalis. He is the child of a mother with late-stage lung cancer.
Since the beginning of the year, 3 premature babies weighing 500 grams have survived, including 2 twins. 20 babies weighing 600-700 grams have also survived.healthy to leave hospital
