'Hanoi Baby' shares her life as 'your child, my child'
People's Artist Lan Huong is happy because her husband Tat Binh always knows how to balance his love for his wife and stepchildren.
Sharing the reason for her frequent participation in TV dramas recently, People's Artist Lan Huong said that she has retired so she has more time for movies. The worries about making a living when in charge of a drama troupe of the Tuoi Tre Theater are no longer haunting her, making her feel much more at ease. In addition, having her husband - director Tat Binh - support her in every decision also helps her comfortably do what she likes and not be haunted by the approaching old age.

Talking about her husband, People's Artist Lan Huong said: "He never says it out loud, but through his actions he loves his wife very much and helps her with everything in life." In the beginning, when she founded the physical drama troupe at the Tuoi Tre Theater nearly 20 years ago, her husband was the one who took the initiative to spend his own money to help her stage new plays, even though he always scolded his wife for "eating at home and taking care of the whole family." Not only that, director Tat Binh never complained when his wife spent little time at home. "I was touched when he told his friends: "She should do things that make her happy. If she is happy, I am happy. If she is happy doing those things, I am happy too," she shared with a smile.
Before meeting director Tat Binh, People's Artist Lan Huong had gone through a breakup and had a daughter. Because her salary as an artist was low, she decided to send her daughter to Germany for her ex-husband to raise so that her child could have a more comfortable life. After living together, her husband Tat Binh was also the one who proactively saved money so that People's Artist Lan Huong could go to Germany to visit her stepdaughter once a year. "When she was little, every year I had to go to Germany to see how she had grown and buy clothes, shoes, socks, etc. for her for the whole year. Since she got married, my mother and I agreed that this year I would go there and next year she would come back to visit her mother."
The 37-year-old actress's only daughter now has two children, aged 15 and 7. Although she does not live in Vietnam often, NSND Lan Huong's daughter loves her stepfather very much. "She calls my husband Uncle Binh. When she was young and had no boyfriend, she often told me, "When I grow up and get married, I will marry someone like you." Later, when she got married, I was also happy because she married a very devoted man who cares for his wife and children just like Uncle Binh," said "Hanoi Baby".

After becoming husband and wife, the "talented man and beautiful woman" of Vietnamese cinema together raised director Tat Binh's two stepdaughters. The actress believes that turbulence is inevitable in a "your child, my child" family because all members need time to get to know and get along with each other. However, she and her husband's two stepdaughters do not encounter too many conflicts or difficulties when living together.
People's Artist Lan Huong believes that her husband Tat Binh's ability to balance his love for his wife and stepchildren is the key to family happiness. "He is a man who loves his wife and children very much. Men who have broken up often forget their previous children because they focus on their wives and future children, but he does not. He never lets either side feel abandoned or think that their father/husband no longer cares about them. I think that is the secret to my whole family's happiness," the actress shared.
For her part, "Hanoi Baby" also tries not to interfere or impose on her children so that the family atmosphere is always peaceful. She believes: "I rarely interfere in other people's private lives, including the private lives of my children and the private lives of my husband's stepchildren. I think we should not interfere rudely and need a distance to respect each other, then life will be more comfortable". Currently, director Tat Binh's two stepchildren have both started their own families and are successful in life. They are the two famous screenwriters Dang Dieu Huong and Dang Thieu Ngan.

Happy moments of the family of People's Artist Lan Huong - Tat Binh. |
People's Artist Lan Huong and Tat Binh do not have children together but have never been sad about it. Talking about the secret to maintaining happiness, People's Artist Lan Huong believes that the most important thing is that all actions come from the sincere love that she and her husband Tat Binh have for each other as well as their "other half's" children.
In mid-September 2017, People's Artist Lan Huong "Hanoi Baby" will return to television audiences with the role of Mrs. Lam - a very strict mother-in-law in the movie "Against the flow of tears". The actress said that some friends advised her not to accept this role because recently, the image of a cruel mother-in-law portrayed by People's Artist Lan Huong "Bong" in the movie "Living with mother-in-law" has left a huge impression on the audience.
However, she did not feel pressured and happily accepted the invitation of director Vu Minh Tri because she felt that Mrs. Lam's personality in Against the Tear was completely different from Mrs. Phuong's in Living with Mother-in-law. While Mrs. Phuong was very conservative, blindly protected her son and had many evil actions towards her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lam lived a modern life and respected traditional family values. Because of the prejudice that a daughter-in-law from the countryside wanted to cling to her son by using the trick of being pregnant, Mrs. Lam often scrutinized and despised him. However, deep down, Mrs. Lam still felt pity when she saw her daughter-in-law being abandoned and indifferent by her son.
