Tran Thi Kinh spent a large sum of money to buy nearly 5kg of drugs to sell to customers. This woman invited her sister to join the crime ring.

On October 13, the People's Court of Nghe An province opened the first instance trial of defendant Tran Thi Kinh (50 years old), residing in Que Phong commune and Tran Thi Lan (63 years old), residing in Duc Chau commune (Nghe An) for the crime of "Illegal trading of narcotics". Defendant Nguyen Thi Truyen (67 years old, residing in Que Phong commune) was prosecuted for the crime of ""Illegal transportation of drugs"In this case, the defendants Lan and Kinh are biological sisters.

According to the case file, through the scrap metal trade, Kinh met a man named Dat (unknown background). In November 2023, Kinh contacted Dat to discuss drug trafficking.

Accordingly, Kinh would buy drugs from Que Phong district (old) to Dien Chau district (old) for his sister Tran Thi Lan to hide and then sell to Dat, each cake costing 60 million VND.

To have "goods" to sell, Kinh ordered nearly 5kg of Methamphetamine from a man of unknown origin in Que Phong district (old) for 106 million VND.

Tran Thi Kinh did not commit the crime alone but asked her sister Tran Thi Lan to join her. Kinh asked her sister to receive the drugs and hide them for him.

At noon on February 2, 2024, when the seller called to deliver drugs, Kinh asked Nguyen Thi Truyen to pick up a package for him. When arriving, even though she knew the package contained drugs, Truyen still agreed to transport it because of greed.

At around 5:00 p.m. the same day, when Truyen handed over the drugs to Lan to hide, he was discovered and caught red-handed by the police. Based on the statements of the subjects, the authorities arrested Tran Thi Kinh.

The investigation agency determined that Kinh and Lan must bear criminal responsibility for buying and selling nearly 5kg of drugs, and Truyen must bear criminal responsibility for illegally transporting nearly 5kg of drugs.

At the trial, the defendants initially denied the drug trafficking and transportation. They claimed they did not know the packages contained drugs. Prior to the investigation, the defendants all admitted their crimes.

After a while, the defendants Lan and Truyen admitted their crimes and expressed remorse.

After the trial, the panel decided to extend the deliberation.
