Kim Jong Un's sister elected to the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea

North Korean media reports today confirmed that leader Kim Jong Un's sister has been elected to the party's Central Committee, a day after her brother was elected chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea.

North Korean news agency KCNA reported that Ms. Kim Yo Jong, sister of President Kim Jong Un, was on the list of 129 people elected to the Central Committee of the Party this term.

Kim Yo Jong, 29, is known as the deputy director of the propaganda department of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. She has played a key role in the propaganda activities of the Workers' Party of Korea for many years.

Before the Workers' Party Congress of Korea took place, many South Korean scholars and experts believed that Ms. Kim Yo Jong would be elected to a ministerial-level position at this congress.
