Forced to 'mortgage' nude photos when borrowing at high interest rates
Nguyen Thi Van Anh requires customers who want to borrow money at high interest rates to mortgage their ID cards and nude photos and videos.
On October 25, Van Anh, 29 years old, her husband Dao Quoc Huy, Bui Ngoc Thuy (37 years old), and Khuong Thi Tuyen (29 years old) were prosecuted by Nam Tu Liem District Police for the crime ofUsury in civil transactions. Van Anh was additionally prosecuted for the crime.Extortion.
According to the investigation, since the end of December 2020, Van Anh and her husband have participated in closed groups about prostitution on social networks to advertise loan sharking in the form of "boc bat ho".

Van Anh recommends that those in need must take a photo of their ID card, a portrait photo, a photo of their social media account interface, and especially a nude photo. Anyone who does not meet the above conditions must provide their mortgage phone password or username, social media account password, and icloud account.
When the payment is not made, Van Anh and her husband will use these "sensitive" documents to threaten customers. This group's actions make many people miserable.
One of the victims is a girl who has borrowed 7 times since the beginning of May, totaling 163 million VND, with an interest rate of 10,000-20,000 VND/million/day, in the form of "borrowing money from relatives". She was threatened by Van Anh that she would post sensitive photos and videos on social media and send them to relatives if she did not pay in full.
When she was arrested in a prostitution case, the girl said she had to do this job to have money to pay off the loan interest. From there, Van Anh's network was discovered.
According to the police, Van Anh's group lent more than 5 billion VND to 989 people at high interest rates of 146-730%. They collected interest and principal from 779 people, profiting more than 1.3 billion VND.
