"Relations with the Russian Federation are developing rapidly, from the Syrian issue to tourism and defense. We carry out mutually beneficial projects," Erdogan told Turkish parliamentarians.
The Turkish President added: "There were many provocations that damaged our relations, but they have been overcome. Hopefully we will further strengthen these relations….".
In December 2017, Türkiye and Russia signed a credit agreement for the supply of S-400 air defense missile systems. Ankara will buy two battalions. The US and NATO have repeatedly criticized Ankara over the deal.
According to Mr. Erdogan, Türkiye is strong and steadfast in the face of threats that the US uses in its relations with this country.
