Denmark fielded their strongest squad, with stars like Christian Eriksen, Pione Sisto and Kasper Schmeichel in their opening match of Nations League Group B4. However, the team that reached the 1/8 round of the 2018 World Cup will not easily bully the visitors Wales. Ryan Giggs and his team are in high spirits after their 4-1 win over Ireland a few days ago, and are ready to play an open game in Copenhagen.
The post-match statistics showed a level playing field between the two teams. Denmark had 52% possession and 16 shots, two more than Wales. However, the home side were superior in efficiency, with Eriksen the highlight.
In the 32nd minute, Tottenham's conductor received the ball at the 16m50 line, from a cross from the right wing. He controlled the ball once, then turned and kicked the ball into the far corner, opening the score.
Thirty minutes later, Wales' Ethan Ampadu handled the ball in the box after a cross from substitute Viktor Fischer. The referee pointed to the penalty spot. Eriksen was given the task and he made no mistake, netting the second goal.

Eriksen's brilliant form helps him getBBCchosen as the best player of the match. The news agency commented: "Denmark was in turmoil and pressure before the match against Wales, when the football federation of this country had a dispute with the image rights of the players. They lost 0-3 to Slovakia when they had to use a semi-professional team. However, the players gave in and the appearance of Eriksen brought amazing results. In his last 18 appearances for Denmark, he scored 15 goals and had five assists."
Denmark won 2-0 until the last minute. With three points, they replaced Wales to hold the top spot in Group B4. As for Wales, they still have a lot of work to do, especially in using Gareth Bale. The Real Madrid star had his range of activities limited on the night of September 9th because he was placed at the top of the attack.
