EU says Ukraine will surrender in two weeks without aid
(Baonghean.vn) - The head of foreign policy of the European Union (EU) predicted that Ukraine would fail in just "two weeks" without supplies from the West.

According to RIA Novosti, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said that the conflict in Ukraine will end "in two weeks" if Kiev does not receive help from the West.
"I know how to end the war in Ukraine. This can be done in a few weeks by stopping the supply of weapons, Ukraine cannot resist and will be forced to surrender. The conflict will end" - Mr. Josep Borrell said.
The EU's foreign policy chief also questioned whether Europe wanted this. According to Mr. Borrell, his view is that he does not want such an outcome, and "many people in Europe do not want it either."
In addition, Mr. Borrell added that disagreements in the US regarding support for Ukraine and the 6-month delay in aid could have turned Kiev's situation "from victory to defeat".
Mr Borrell has repeatedly voiced his support for continued Western military aid to Kiev. In June 2023, he expressed concern that without the help of his partners, the conflict in Ukraine would end very quickly. In December 2023, the top European diplomat complained that not all EU countries considered Russia a “strategic threat”, no matter how hard he tried to convince them of this.
Regarding aid to Ukraine, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said on May 3 that he did not consider French President Emmanuel Macron's idea of sending NATO troops to Ukraine to fight as correct, because this would be a "dangerous escalation".
Commenting on the British Foreign Secretary's statement, official spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that Mr. Cameron "forgot to add" that it was not necessary to send NATO troops to Ukraine, because "they would have nothing left"./.
