Europa League: English teams face many difficulties
Shortly after the Champions League group stage draw, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) conducted the Europa League group stage draw.
The 48 teams that qualified for the Europa League group stage have just been drawn into 12 different groups.
Tottenham fell into Group K with Anzhi (Russia), Sheriff (Moldova) and Tromso (Norway).
The other two English football representatives, Swansea and Wigan, also face many difficulties. While Swansea are in Group A with Valencia, Kuban of Russia and St Gallen of Switzerland, Wigan have to face Rubin Kazan (Russia), Maribor (Slovenia) and Zulte Waregem (Belgium) in Group D.
The group considered "death" is group I with Lyon (France), Betis (Spain), Guimaraes (Portugal) and Rijeka (Croatia).
The first round of group stage matches of the 2013/14 Europa League will kick off on September 19. The second round will take place two weeks later.
The Europa League final will take place at Juventus Studium, Turin (Italy) on May 14, 2014./.
