F-35 has weapons to defeat Russia's S-400
The US military announced that it has successfully developed a glide bomb that can easily attack from out of reach of Russia's S-400 air defense system.
To be able to neutralize the opponent's advanced air defense systems, including the Russian S-400, the US is starting to develop a new generation of JSOW-ER glide bombs to equip the F-35 fighter.
If all goes well, JSOW-ER will officially be equipped with the US Air Force in 2021.

Currently, most of the information about this weapon is still kept secret by the US, however, the US Air Force affirms that with stealth features, a weight of 450 kg and the ability to fly in the air with a maximum distance of up to 560 km, JSOW-ER can completely launch attacks from out of reach and take down air defense systems like the S-400.
Experts believe that the US investment in developing JSOW-ER is related to the previous version, AGM-154 JSOW, which is not strong enough to deal with the S-300/400 systems developed by Russia.
The Russia & India Report quoted the opinion of Mr. Konstantin Makienko, Deputy Director of the Russian Bureau for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies, that as long as the "bodyguard" Pantsir-S1 accompanies the S-400, the AGM-154 JSOW missile, no matter how it is deployed on any US aircraft, will still not be able to launch an attack, if not to say they can be shot down before they can detect the S-400.
"Within a radius of 20km and an altitude of 16km, no aircraft or aerodynamic vehicle will be able to approach the S-400 combat location. Because within that combat range, the Pantsir-S1 complex is capable of defeating all current and future air strike vehicles.
Pantsir-S1 is designed to protect industrial clusters, administrative centers, military bases and social facilities, as well as create a "shield" for long-range air defense missile systems such as the S-300 and S-400," said Konstantin Makienko.
It is known that each S-400 regiment, Russia has 2 Pantsir-S1 systems for protection duty. And with this arrangement, S-400 can confidently fight long-range, while the task of dealing with targets such as JSOW missiles, Pantsir-S1 can completely undertake.
The Russian expert added that Americans always have a habit of making grandiose declarations about the weapons they produce, but the reality is far from it. And it is very possible that JSOW-ER is one of many such cases.
