Facebook shows how to "avoid" spam
Recently, many Vietnamese Facebook users are annoyed because they often receive messages selling beautiful phone numbers, real estate... via the group chat feature without knowing who is sending them the messages.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Vu Huy (Tan Mai, Hanoi) said that for a long time, the social network Facebook has been indispensable in work as well as daily entertainment. In addition to communicating with friends to share thoughts and feelings, Mr. Huy also regularly discusses work with partners.

However, recently, Facebook has brought him a lot of frustration. In addition to scam messages, he often receives advertising messages through the group chat feature, which is quite useful on this social network. Each time, Mr. Huy has to delete the message, or use the leave group chat feature to avoid receiving further annoying messages.
“In the past few days, my phone seemed to have less spam messages via SMS, but now I receive spam messages on Facebook. Even in the middle of the night, I hear my phone ringing, wake up and open it to receive spam messages from social networks,” Mr. Huy complained.
Like Mr. Huy, many people complain about being “terrorized” with spam messages, “forced” to join groups… via Facebook. This social network seems to have become a fertile ground for advertisers to profit without paying any attention to the psychology of users.

Responding to reporters on this issue, a Facebook representative affirmed that protecting users from the effects of spam and harmful content is always Facebook's top priority. This unit has also spent many years researching to develop advanced firewalls to prevent spam content from spreading.
In addition, Facebook has been working with partners in the technology industry to secure user information; build an operating mechanism to quickly remove pages containing harmful content as well as groups and accounts that intend to spread spam by faking messages sent to users.
In addition to the engineering teams building tools to prevent spam, Facebook has also invested in establishing a team of experts to help identify individuals spreading spam and coordinate with its legal team to come up with appropriate sanctions to handle violations.
Facebook representatives also recommended that users should not click on links in strange messages, even if the messages have been posted or shared by friends.
In case of receiving spam, users can report it back to Facebook by following the instructions here.
In addition, Facebook also provides recommendations on increasing security on the Facebook Security page.
Specifically, with Facebook Messenger, users can manage security and personalize their activities by creating basic and advanced filters to set up and manage who can send messages to. In Messenger, select Settings, Privacy & Term, Privacy Shortcuts, then select “Who can contact me?” on the screen, select Privacy Basics, then select “Who can contact me?”
“Users can also report to Facebook by opening the messages and selecting Settings in the upper right corner, then selecting Report Spam & Abuse,” Facebook concluded./
