Facebook will allow the use of pseudonyms again this December.
Following a wave of user backlash regarding the requirement to use real names when using Facebook, representatives of the world's largest social network have announced changes to two related rules.
According to GSMArena, Facebook announced in a recent statement that it will be adding two new rules regarding the use of real/fake names on Facebook, with better terms for users. Specifically, the first rule states that if a user wants to use a fake name on Facebook, they must provide a detailed explanation of why the account will use that name. The name could be related to the user's circumstances or context, and for some important reason, a fake name must be used.

The second regulation concerns the issue of many users intentionally using the report feature to denounce Facebook accounts using fake names. In fact, when Facebook introduced the real-name requirement, many users, even those using their real names, could still be wrongly accused, causing significant problems when their accounts were temporarily suspended.
Accordingly, in the future, if someone wants to report someone, the "reporter" will have to provide more information and give more specific and detailed explanations about the reported account. This could significantly reduce the number of users who intentionally cause trouble.
According to Facebook, these two regulations will officially come into effect next December.
