Facebook adds a feature to quickly send photos to friends.
Using facial recognition technology, Facebook's Messenger app will suggest sharing photos in which your friends appear.
Facebook's new feature, called Photo Magic, uses artificial intelligence to identify friends and then prompts users if they want to share the photo with others. Photo Magic works similarly to how Facebook automatically tags friends when uploading photos; however, instead of posting to the wall, these photos are shared privately via messages.

The new feature will first appear on the Facebook Messenger app for Android and is currently only supported for users in Australia. The iOS version is expected to be released soon and will expand to more regions.
Photo Magic aims to make sharing photos with friends easier, instead of having to sift through hundreds of images in your library. The software scans the photo to see if anyone's face appears in it, then suggests options to the user. If there are multiple people in the picture, Photo Magic will create a group chat with those present.
Facebook previously released Moments, a software with similar functionality, but it required users to download the app separately. Meanwhile, Messenger is far more popular and is practically indispensable when using Facebook.

While offering a new user experience, Photo Magic also raises concerns about security. This feature uses facial recognition technology to collect and compile information from Facebook users. However, there's no guarantee that this data will remain intact and be used only for non-commercial purposes.
From the user's perspective, to enhance security, you can deny Facebook access to your smartphone's photo library. Additionally, you can disable facial recognition in the settings by turning off tagging suggestions.
