SLNA fans join hands to support Central Vietnam.
(Baonghean.vn) - That was the message that the SLNA Supporters' Club conveyed at the opening ceremony of the "Song Lam Open - GUMAC Cup" football tournament last night (October 15).
Six SLNA fan women's football teams, representing branches of the SLNA Supporters Club in the South from Saigon, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Vung Tau, gathered in Binh Duong to compete in a tournament celebrating the 86th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20th). This is a traditional tournament of the SLNA Supporters Club, held annually after the V-League concludes.

The opening day of the "Song Lam Open - GUMAC Cup" women's football tournament coincided with the central region of Vietnam battling severe flooding, with Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces being particularly hard hit. A message of solidarity and support for their homeland was then issued by the SLNA Supporters' Club in the South.

Ambassador of the Nghe An fan community, Ms. Huynh Trang Nhi, said: Tonight (October 16th), the SLNA Supporters Club in the South will launch a fundraising campaign for Central Vietnam, aiming to join hands with people in flood-affected areas in Central Vietnam, especially Nghe An and Ha Tinh.
It is known that at the end of 2013, Nghe An and Ha Tinh also had to struggle through a devastating flood. At that time, Ms. Huynh Trang Nhi and the SLNA Supporters Club in the South also appealed for support from the community and raised over 500 million VND to help those in difficult circumstances in Nghe An province.
