On May 18, federal authorities began searching for evidence alleging the production of the deadly ricin poison at Buquet's home.
However, police have yet to find any evidence that could incriminate Buquet. If convicted, Buquet could face a 10-year prison sentence and a $250,000 fine.
On May 14, a court clerk, while screening mail sent to the court, retained a letter that was later confirmed to contain the poison ricin. Investigators have not said whether this incident is related to a series of ricin-laced letters that have been sent to several U.S. officials, including President Barack Obama, Republican Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi, and Mississippi State Judge Sadie Holland recently.
Previously, on April 27, James Everett Dutschke was arrested in Mississippi on suspicion of sending three letters.
