Roger Federer (Switzerland, 1) won his 9th title at the Halle tournament (Germany) when he easily won 2-0 (6/1, 6/3) against the host country's young talent Alexander Zverev (4) in the Halle tournament final on the evening of June 25 (Vietnam time).

Before this final, the host country had high hopes that Zverev would repeat his achievement of defeating Federer in the semi-finals of the same tournament last year. However, the 20-year-old Zverev disappointed the home crowd when he had a poor start to the match and let Federer quickly take a 4/0 lead.
Although Zverev tried to pull back a set, he still could not stop Federer from winning 6/1 in the first set. In the next set, Zverev played better, but against an experienced and confident Federer, the home player suffered another defeat with a score of 3/6.
In this match, although Zverev had 5 direct serve wins compared to Federer's 4. However, the difference that Federer made was when he had 8 chances to break Zverev's serve and took advantage of 50% of these opportunities. On the contrary, in the whole match, Zverev only had 1 chance but was not successful.

With a victory after only 53 minutes against the promising young player Zverev, the "express train" Federer has won his 9th title at this tournament and also his 4th title this year. This victory can also help Federer gain more confidence when preparing to enter Wimbledon to find his 19th Grand Slam title in his career.
Meanwhile, this disappointing defeat prevented Zverev from winning a title at his home tournament despite high expectations. This shows that young players have not been able to replace the experienced seniors at this time.
