Federer 'beautifully defeated' Nadal, won the 2017 Miami Open
Roger Federer closed the final match after only 1 hour and 34 minutes, defeating his fateful opponent in two sets with a score of 6-3, 6-4.
Unlike his struggles against Kyrgios - who won in three tie-breaks - in the semi-finals, Federer entered the final against Nadal with a completely different mindset. The 35-year-old kept his cool against his opponent and scored two important breaks at decisive moments to win 6-3, 6-4.
Difficulties, if any, only occurred in the first set when Nadal had two break-points in the opening game, but were eventually resolved. The turning point occurred in the eighth game, a game that demonstrated Federer's stability and mettle. Nadal and Federer continuously brought the game to deuce, Nadal had the advantage many times but still could not finish the game. Nadal then lost his accuracy, hitting the ball into the net, helping Federer gain an important break, winning 5-3 and then going on to win 6-3 to end the first set.
Federer was superior in the long shots from the baseline. While both had 10 unforced errors, Federer had more winners than Nadal (18 to 9).

In the opening game of the second set, Federer continuously attacked Nadal and had four break opportunities. But the Spaniard was still cautious and kept his serve.
The two players fought back and forth and the scenario of the first set played out again. In the ninth game, Federer once again broke to take a 5-4 lead and won 6-4. In the second set, Nadal did not have a single break-point opportunity.
This is Federer's fourth consecutive victory against Nadal. If Nadal was Federer's nemesis in his youth, as shown by their 23-14 head-to-head record, Federer has been in better form since he turned 30.

The way Federer plays makes many people wonder where he gets such stamina at the age of 35. In 2017, Federer only lost one match and won 19.
The latest victory over Nadal helped Federer win the 26th Masters 1000 title of his career.
