Many tourism and aviation stocks increased sharply, including VietJet (VJC) of Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao. VietJet's VJC shares on March 9 increased by VND3,500 to VND101,800/share.

However, according to Forbes' real-time rankings, the CEO of VietJet is no longer continuously updated with assets in the list of USD billionaires.
As of the morning of March 9, 2023, Forbes no longer directly updates the changes in Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao's assets. Ms. Thao's real-time assets calculation page was returned on April 4, 2022, according to the previous year's ranking. At that time, Ms. Thao had assets of 3.1 billion USD.
Recently, in late February and early March 2023, Ms. Thao's assets were at 2.1 billion USD.
Previously, from mid-November 2022, Forbes also stopped counting the assets of two Vietnamese billionaires, including Mr. Tran Dinh Long (Chairman of Hoa Phat Group) and Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon (Chairman of Novaland).
After a series of days of falling prices, on the morning of November 14, 2022, Forbes no longer directly updated the asset fluctuations of Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon.
Previously, on November 11, 2022, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon officially ceased to be a USD billionaire according to Forbes' list, when on the same afternoon, his assets were only 946 million USD. As of March 9, 2023, Mr. Nhon was still not on the list of USD billionaires on Forbes' real-time calculation table.

In the trading session on November 10, 2022, Mr. Tran Dinh Long officially left the list of USD billionaires in Forbes' ranking, when his assets were only worth 985.9 million USD.
However, in early 2023, HPG shares increased sharply, bringing Mr. Tran Dinh Long back to this list.

After a sharp increase in January 2023, many Vietnamese billionaires saw their assets decline in February and stagnate in early March, when investors saw no signs of recovery from real estate stocks.
Many other pillar stocks have not recovered yet.
According to Forbes, as of March 9, 2023, Vietnam has 5 USD billionaires compared to 7 people in the ranking in March 2022 (announced in early April 2022).
Currently, the Vietnamese USD billionaires ranked in order according to Forbes' list include: Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong (Chairman of Vingroup multi-industry corporation), Mr. Tran Dinh Long, Mr. Ho Hung Anh (Chairman of Techcombank), Mr. Tran Ba Duong and his family (owner of Thaco automobile assembly and manufacturing company) and Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang (Chairman of Masan).
Mr. Tran Dinh Long surpassed Mr. Ho Hung Anh thanks to Hoa Phat (HPG) shares recovering strongly before and recently not adjusting down much. Large organizations are still pouring money into HPG shares.
Statistics show that, as of March 9, all 5 Vietnamese USD billionaires had about 9.9 billion USD, lower than the 15.3 billion USD (recorded in the ranking in March 2022).
Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong topped the list with 3.9 billion USD. Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang ranked last with 1.2 billion USD.
As for VietJet, owned by billionaire Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, this airline reported a loss for the first time. For the whole year of 2022, VietJet recorded a loss after tax of more than VND 2,171 billion, compared to a profit of nearly VND 122 billion in 2021.
