Ford EcoSport 2018 is selling like hotcakes in India
Ford EcoSport 2018 has just been launched in the Indian market with a price equivalent to more than 200 million VND. It is known that after only 12 hours, the number of online orders has reached 123 orders.
The 2018 Ford EcoSport facelift was first introduced at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. It was only recently that this urban SUV was introduced in the Indian market. In the Indian market, this urban SUV is priced from 731,000 - 1,099,000 Rupees, equivalent to 255.5 - 384 million VND. Carmaker Ford has now started accepting pre-orders for the 2018 Ford EcoSport online on Amazon. And within just 12 hours, there were 123 consumer orders for this small crossover, according to statistics from The Economic Times news site.

In terms of design, the 2018 Ford EcoSport urban SUV in India has no changes compared to the version launched in the US, the car has a new trapezoidal grille and larger headlights, integrated with LED daytime running lights. Besides, there are sharp fog lights and improved bumpers.
Next up is the 17-inch aluminum alloy rim set for the premium version, with Michelin Primacy 3ST Haoyue tires measuring 205/50 R17. In addition, this new model also has new blue, orange and red paint colors.
Inside the 2018 Ford EcoSport in India, a touchscreen infotainment system is standard across all trim levels except the base model. The screen sits on a redesigned instrument cluster and comes with SYNC 3 support.
In the Trend and Trend+ versions, the screen size is 6.5 inches while the corresponding number in the Titanium and Titanium+ versions is 8 inches. The system also supports smartphone connectivity applications such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Added to that are new seat upholstery, volume controls on the 3-spoke steering wheel, automatic air conditioning and 2 USB ports.
However, the real highlight of the 2018 Ford EcoSport has to be the new 1.5-liter Dragon gasoline engine. This 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine produces a maximum capacity of 123 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 150 Nm at 4,500 rpm. Power is transmitted to the wheels via a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
Additionally, the old 1.5-litre diesel engine with a maximum capacity of 100bhp continues to be used for the 2018 Ford EcoSport in India. This engine is only combined with a 5-speed manual transmission.

According to Ford, the new gasoline engine will consume an average of 17 km/l (5.88 liters/100 km) of fuel when paired with a manual transmission. The corresponding figure when paired with an automatic transmission is 14.8 km/l (6.75 liters/100 km). The most economical is the diesel engine at 23 km/l (4.34 liters/100 km).
Vehicle safety equipment includes ABS anti-lock brakes, electronic balance, vehicle stability control, six airbags, rear parking sensors, rear camera, EBA, traction control system, etc.
