Ford EcoSport 2018 - more difficulties for Hyundai i20 Activ

On November 15, the upgraded version of the small urban car model was launched in the US market with two EcoBoost engine options with a capacity of 1 or 2 liters.

Ahead of the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, Ford Releases First Images of the EcoSportMid-cycle upgrade. The exterior design is slightly tweaked to create a more masculine feel. Overall, it looks like a miniature version of its elder brother, the Ford Edge, with a sporty style at the forefront.

The upgraded Ford EcoSport goes on sale in early 2017.

The minor changes in the exterior are not repeated in the interior equipment. The car uses the SYNC 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch touch screen, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Supports USB connection, two 12V charging ports and one 110V port.

The top-of-the-line Titanium trim gets a 10-speaker B&O Play audio system, while the sporty SES trim gets a bespoke suspension, four-wheel drive, and a contrasting black-gold-copper steering wheel and seats.

The highlight of the upgraded EcoSport is the EcoBoost engine. The car has two options: a 1-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder or a 2-liter 4-cylinder, both combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The American car company has not yet released the specifications of these two engines, but confirmed that the 4-wheel drive system with the 2.0 engine is standard equipment.

The new model is sold in 4 versions: S, SE, SES and Titanium. There are 10 exterior colors to choose from and 7 types of interior ambient lighting.The new Ford EcoSport has no official price yet, it will be available in the US market early next year, followed by many other countries. Vietnam is likely to be among them because Ford is currently distributing EcoSport to the domestic market with three versions. The lowest price for the 1.5 manual engine version is 585 million VND.

In Vietnam, EcoSport is holding the advantage as a pioneer in the small urban car segment. Following the appearance ofHyundai i20 Activ orChevrolet Trax, a model that will be available on the market in early 2017. As for CX-3, a Mazda product, although it appeared at the auto show in Hanoi in October with Trax, there is still no official information about its distribution to the domestic market.
