Ford Everest 2019 revealed before official sale

The new Ford Everest is powered by the Ford Ranger Raptor engine, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and many new technologies. This model has been revealed and is set to go on sale in Australia from the fourth quarter of this year.

Based on the chassis of the Ford Ranger pickup truck, the new Everest is also equipped with a 2.0L bi-turbo Diesel engine like the newly launched Ranger Raptor, producing a maximum capacity of 210 horsepower and maximum torque of 500 Nm (at 1750 rpm).

The new engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission that is claimed to improve handling, smoothness and cabin refinement on and off-road. Fuel consumption for the model is rated at 6.9 liters/100km for the Trend RWD version.

Ford's new 2.0L diesel engine is standard on the Titanium and an option on the Trend, while the old 3.2L five-cylinder diesel will remain standard on the Ambiente and Trend.

The latest driver assistance features updated by Ford for Everest 2019 include: automatic emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection (standard on Trend and Titanium versions), along with other convenient features such as: hands-free trunk opening (standard on Trend and Titanium versions), and semi-automatic parking assist system.

All versions of the new Ford Everest are equipped with the Sync 3 system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity along with an integrated satellite navigation system.

In terms of design changes, the most notable are the new grille, HID headlights on the Trend, and 20-inch alloy wheels on the Titanium. Meanwhile, the interior will have a darker tone and be equipped with many soft-touch materials.

Ford has also made slight changes to the suspension geometry to improve ride comfort, along with an Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system for bi-turbo diesel models, making them quieter than vehicles equipped with the 3.2L engine.

Ford Everest 2019 will be officially sold in Australia from the fourth quarter of this year, the price of the car has not been revealed.
