The 2015 Ford Expedition is easily distinguishable from the current version by its three-bar grille instead of the four-bar one. The front end is more aggressive with its headlights, chrome exhaust pipes, new-style wheels, redesigned tailgate, and optional LED fog lights.
Like its sibling, the Expedition will come in two versions. The standard version has a wheelbase of 3,022 mm, while the Expedition EL version has a longer wheelbase of 3,327 mm.
Inside, the cabin remains largely unchanged from the current version, including a refreshed center console and instrument cluster with two LCD screens. Other highlights include LED lighting, smart key (push-button start), a 10-speaker SONY sound system, and the MyFord Touch infotainment system. The American automaker says the Expedition will also have a top-of-the-line Platinum version.
Power is provided by a 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine paired with a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. The American automaker did not provide further information on engine power, but stated that it will not be less than 370 horsepower and 582 Nm of torque on the 2015 Lincoln Navigator.
The 2015 Ford Expedition comes equipped with a new power steering system and continuously variable suspension, along with three driving modes: Comfort, Normal, and Sport.
The large SUV will go on sale at the end of 2014 and will debut at the DFW Auto Show, an event taking place in Texas (USA) from February 19 to 23.
