New Ford Focus version costs 700 million VND in Vietnam
The American car company launched a new Trend version for the Focus, equipped with a 1.5 EcoBoost engine and priced 150 million VND cheaper than the Titanium version.
The rise of Mazda3 and Kia Cerato in the C-class sedan segment with continuous discount sales policy makes competitors impatient. Toyota reduces the price of Altis and now Ford also makes Focus cheaper by adding a Trend version.
In the Ford product pedigree, the "option" order from low to high is Trend, Titanium and then the special versions of Titanium. Until now, Focus only had Titanium version, now there is also Trend version with similar design and engine, only different in equipment.

The Trend version has the same design as the Titanium version, only the equipment is different. |
The Focus Trend also has a 1.5 EcoBoost engine that produces 180 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. These figures are no different from the Titanium. The 6-speed automatic transmission has paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
The Trend version is equipped with smart connectivity and Ford Sync voice control. Driver assistance includes ESP electronic balance, hill start assist, reverse sensor, and electric power steering.
The Focus Trend is priced at 699 million for both the sedan and hatchback, while the Titanium has a list price of 848 million. The 150 million gap will make the Trend lack more options than the Titanium. At 700 million, the Trend is on par with the Kia Cerato 2.0 (highest version) or Mazda3 1.5 (lowest version).
In 2016, Ford sold more than 1,000 Focus cars, an increase of 54% compared to the same period in 2015. In absolute terms, the sales of Focus are only equal to one month of Mazda3. The Trend version is the American car company's hope to narrow the gap with its Japanese rival.
