Ford GT 2017 - American supercar challenges Ferrari
The American supercar is equipped with a twin-turbocharged V6 engine, 647 horsepower and a price tag of nearly $400,000.
Ford has just announced detailed specifications of the 2017 GT, the supercar marking the return of the American car company to the speed race with names like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren.

Ford's supercar is equipped with a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine, 647 horsepower at 6,250 rpm, maximum torque of 746 Nm at 5,900 rpm. Combined with a 7-speed Getrag automatic transmission, the car reaches a maximum speed of 348 km/h. Thereby becoming the fastest car Ford has ever built.
The American car company has not announced the acceleration time to 100 km/h from a standstill. However, in the test atCalabogie Motorsports Park, Canada, Ford GTcompleted a lap in 2 minutes 9.8 seconds.That's one second ahead of the McLaren 675LT and 3.1 seconds ahead of the Ferrari 458 Speciale. With a dry weight of 1,385 kg, Ford's supercar has a weight-to-power ratio of 2.1 kg/hp.
Along with the powerful engine and impressive speed, the fuel consumption of the Ford GT is not "pleasant". This supercar consumes 21.4 liters/100 km on urban roads, 13.1 liters/100 km on the highway and 16.8 liters/100 km on combined roads, according to data from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The Ford GT supercar is limited to 250 units per year worldwide. The price was announced by Ford at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show from 380,000 USD. The car is assembled at a factory in Canada and will be available on the market at the end of 2016.
