These days, Mr. Dau Ba Hiep - owner of a clean chicken farm in Hamlet 2, Thanh Nho Commune, Thanh Chuong District, is busy all day catching, collecting, and delivering chickens to customers.

Mr. Hiep happily shared: “For the past few years, I and a group of young people in the district have been providing the market with clean agricultural products by developing a sustainable VAC model. We raise chickens according to a semi-organic process. Farmers must have a large garden area to let the chickens roam freely during the day, freely foraging for worms, termites, and weeds, only feeding the chickens in the evening, and locking the chickens in cages at night to avoid rain, wind, and foxes; regularly spraying disinfectant periodically. Only then can we create commercial chickens with chewy, sweet, and rich meat.”

In addition to raising chickens in households, Thanh Chuong district currently has over 500 farms and ranches raising chickens, with an estimated output of over 2 million chickens per year. In addition to selling locally, at rural markets, and city markets, Thanh Chuong chickens are also sold in Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, and restaurants with the sign "Thanh Chuong Chicken". During the holiday season and the 15th day of the 7th lunar month this year, Mr. Hiep's farm and his group have released thousands of chickens, mainly local roosters, to the market.

Since the collective trademark “Thanh Chuong Chicken” was recognized, chicken farmers have learned how to raise chickens properly to have clean chickens to protect the brand of their hometown chickens. Ms. Le Thi Loan - in Thanh Dong commune said that in recent days, she has sold over 100 chickens per market session. In the Dung market session on the morning of July 14, she sold over 200 chickens. Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tu, originally from Dong Van commune and now living in Hanoi, excitedly said: “For a long time, it has been difficult to eat a chicken from the countryside in the city. This time when I return to my hometown, in addition to buying chickens for the 7th lunar month ceremony, I will buy a few more to eat and as gifts.”

At the rural and district markets in Thanh Chuong, beautiful roosters cost 100,000 VND/kg, while hens and old chickens cost only 80-90,000 VND/kg. In Vinh, beautiful chickens cost 120,000 VND/kg. With tens of thousands of chickens sold in recent days, chicken farmers in Thanh Chuong district have earned billions of VND.
