(Baonghean.vn) - Thi is the person who organized for 3 pregnant women to go to China to sell fetuses to Chinese people for 30 million VND (female fetuses) and 70 million VND (male fetuses).

According to the Investigation Police Agency of Quy Hop District, through the work of grasping the situation in the area, in early May 2020, Quy Hop District Police detectives discovered that Truong Dinh Thi brought a pregnant woman with a southern accent to a motel in Nghia Xuan commune, Quy Hop district, to rent a room for a long stay. Using synchronous professional measures, Quy Hop District Police detectives collected information that this woman was "carrying a pregnancy" to prepare to sell the child to a Chinese person for money.

From the above important information, combined with verification and consolidation of the case file on Truong Dinh Thi, the investigation agency determined that Thi was a subject with a previous conviction for "Prostitution" and was under the surveillance of the police agency. To concentrate forces to fight and clarify the case, the leaders of Quy Hop District Police held a meeting and directed the City Police Investigation Team on Crime, Economy, and Drugs to establish a special project, mobilizing experienced detectives and investigators to participate in the project.

The task force was assigned to closely monitor the movements of Truong Dinh Thi, and at the same time closely monitor the activities of the woman who was renting a room at a motel in Nghia Xuan commune, determined not to let the subjects escape.

Some time later, Truong Dinh Thi continued to bring another pregnant woman with a southern accent to rent a room at the same motel as the woman who had rented it before. According to the intelligence source, the pregnant woman who rented the room this time was also "nursing a pregnancy".

Thi repeatedly visited the motel where the two pregnant women were staying to visit and discuss the time to move to Hanoi. When the subjects were preparing to move, Thi brought another pregnant woman with a Northern accent to rent a room at the motel with the two people before.

A few days later, Thi discussed with the three pregnant women and agreed on the travel time on the night of May 25, 2020. Thi took the three women by sleeper bus from Quy Hop to Hanoi to hand them over to someone who would take them to China. After confirming the information that the subjects were preparing to travel, the task force realized that the opportunity had come and ordered the case to be solved that same night. The "rescue" plan was carefully prepared by the task force, coordinating with the blocking forces to prevent the subjects from having a chance to escape.

At about 0:30 a.m. on May 25, 2020, at (Km33+700) on National Highway 48, in Thai Hoa town, Quy Hop District Police coordinated with Traffic Police Team 1/48 to stop and check Thanh Hong Son passenger car with license plate 37B-016.98 running on the Quy Hop - Hanoi route. Through inspection, Quy Hop District Police discovered that Truong Dinh Thi (born in 1972), residing in Dot Va hamlet, Nghia Xuan commune, Quy Hop, was taking 3 pregnant women from 3 to 7 months old with him, including: Le Thi Ngoc K (born in 1994), residing in Vinh Quoi hamlet, Long Vinh commune, Go Cong Tay district, Tien Giang province; Nguyen Nhu H (born in 1982), residing in village 18B, Ea Bar commune, Buon Don district, Dak Lak province and Pham Thi Thu H (born in 1997), residing at 29/141 Phan Dinh Phung, Nam Dinh city, Nam Dinh province.

At the investigation agency, through initial investigation, the subjects declared that Truong Dinh Thi was the subject who organized the above 3 pregnant women to go to China to sell fetuses to Chinese people for 30 million VND (female fetuses) and 70 million VND (male fetuses).

Regarding the methods and tricks used to lure pregnant women to take them abroad, the subjects reported that due to their “accidental” pregnancies, these women went on social networking sites to search for “infertile” families who needed to adopt children. At the same time, Truong Dinh Thi also participated in the above social networking sites. Thi initiated conversations and lured these women to raise their fetuses to sell to Chinese people at prices depending on whether the fetus was male or female. However, Thi’s actions were promptly discovered by the Quy Hop District Police, who promptly filed a case and stopped it.

Currently, Quy Hop District Police are continuing to consolidate files and documents to handle Truong Dinh Thi according to the provisions of the law. Regarding the three rescued women, Quy Hop District Police have coordinated with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Quy Hop District to propagate and explain to them that buying and selling fetuses is against the law, and at the same time arrange food and accommodation for them before returning to their localities.
