The man just got out of prison and is riding his bike to sell ecstasy.
(Baonghean.vn) - Nguyen Sy Toan has just been released from prison but has already been involved in drug trafficking. Toan was using a bicycle to transport many ecstasy pills when he was arrested by the police.
On November 29, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a criminal trial of defendant Nguyen Sy Toan (50 years old), residing in Hung Dung Ward, Vinh City, for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".
This is the fourth time Toan has appeared in court. Previously, Toan was tried three times for theft and illegal possession of drugs.

According to the case file, around April 2022, while drinking sugarcane juice, Toan met and became acquainted with a man named Hung (unknown background and specific address). Hung asked Toan to sell him 1,000 ecstasy pills for 90 million VND. Toan agreed.
On the afternoon of May 3, Toan rode his bicycle to meet Hung to get drugs. When they met, Hung showed Toan the package of drugs left in the empty lot in front of the alley.
Toan understood, so he went to get the drugs and put them in front of his bicycle basket to go home. During the trip, Toan met the working group of the Vinh City Police Department's Drug Crime Investigation Team. When discovered, Toan threw his bicycle away and ran about 20 meters before being arrested by the police with evidence of more than 454 grams of drugs.
At the trial, the defendant admitted to his crime. Toan said he had just been released from prison but had re-offended by selling drugs for profit. The defendant presented his difficult circumstances to ask the court to reduce his sentence.
After considering the aggravating and mitigating circumstances, the panel sentenced Nguyen Sy Toan to 20 years in prison for the crime of illegal drug trafficking. As for the person named Hung, because the defendant did not know his background or address, there was no basis for prosecution.
