(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 30, at the hall of the People's Committee of Nghi Thiet commune (Nghi Loc - Nghe An), Nghi Loc district People's Court opened a mobile trial of the drug trafficking case against defendant Nguyen Dinh Dung, 60 years old.

According to the indictment of the Nghi Loc District People's Procuracy, defendant Nguyen Dinh Dung (born in 1956, residing in Khanh Thinh hamlet, Nghi Khanh commune, Nghi Loc district) regularly retailed drugs to long-distance drivers and some drug addicts along National Highway 46.

On December 11, 2015, the Nghi Loc District Police task force ambushed Nguyen Dinh Dung's house and discovered two young men coming out of his house and acting suspiciously. The task force followed and arrested the two young men for drug use. The two men stated that the drugs they used were purchased from Nguyen Dinh Dung.

On the afternoon of December 14, 2015, Nghi Loc District Police arrested and temporarily detained Nguyen Dinh Dung. After searching his house, the authorities seized 1.25 grams of heroin. At the trial, Nghi Loc District People's Court sentenced Nguyen Dinh Dung to 25 months in prison.

Nguyen Dinh Dung had two previous convictions for trafficking and possession of heroin.

According to the indictment, at 3:45 p.m. on December 3, 2015, Le Quang Tuan took a bus from Thai Hoa to Tao market (Dien Lam commune, Dien Chau district) to buy 300,000 VND worth of drugs from a man whose drug background was unknown for use. When he arrived at Dong My hamlet, Dong Hieu commune, he was discovered and detained by the patrol force of the town police.

Through verification, the police determined that the seized drug package was heroin, weighing 0.198 grams.

In court, Le Quang Tuan confessed his illegal acts. It is known that Tuan's family is very poor, and Tuan works as a construction worker every day to make a living.

The People's Court of Thai Hoa town sentenced defendant Le Quang Tuan to 30 months in prison for illegal drug possession.
