Anh Son "clean" chicken is ready for Lunar New Year

(Baonghean.vn) - With about 2 weeks left until the Lunar New Year, farmers in Anh Son district are now ready with clean chicken to serve the Tet market.

This year, Anh Son district has more than 500 thousand chickens sold to the market.

For nearly half a month now, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dai and his wife in village 4, Tuong Son commune (Anh Son), have put aside almost all farming work to focus on taking care of their chickens. On a hill of more than 3 hectares, his family raises 2,000 chickens, of which 1,000 will be sold before Tet. His family's farm is very clean, without any bad smell, and the chicken feeding and drinking water troughs are scientifically arranged.

This Tet holiday, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dai, village 4, Tuong Son commune, has 1.8 tons of chicken to sell to the market.

Mr. Dai said: “Raising chickens is hard, especially from the time they are imported until they are 1 month old. At this time, we have to keep them in captivity, vaccinate them, and provide them with regular food. During this period, the chickens are allowed to roam outside and are only locked up at night.

Since August, the family has been preparing to strengthen the quantity to supply for Tet. Thanks to the selection of healthy chicken breeds, ensuring quarantine requirements, the chicken flock has high resistance, grows well, and weighs from 1.5 to 2 kg. With a selling price of 90 to 100 thousand VND/kg, this Tet season my family will earn from 150 to 180 million VND.

Visiting the chicken raising model to serve the consumption needs of clean food sources during the Lunar New Year of Mr. Nguyen Van Dung's family in village 1, Hoi Son commune, there were quite a lot of customers coming to the house to order before Tet. Mr. Dung said: Taking advantage of the land area of ​​nearly 300 square meters, each year his family raises and exports hundreds of meat chickens to the market. It is known that the chicken breed her family raises is the local chicken breed, this is a small breed of chicken, with beautiful feathers, yellow legs, and delicious meat.

The main breeds of chicken are domestic chickens, free-range chickens...so they have smooth yellow feathers, small legs, and red combs.

Currently, the family is raising 500 pigs to serve Tet, mainly feeding them with rice, ground corn, banana stems, green vegetables and bran, while also allowing them to roam free in the garden. The raising time is long, the meat is firm and delicious, so the market is very fond of them.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Phi - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Anh Son district said: this Tet holiday, the whole district has about more than 500 thousand chickens sold to the market, with the main breeds being local chickens, domestic chickens, etc.

To ensure the safety of people's poultry, especially chickens for the Lunar New Year market, the association has promoted people to strengthen disease prevention and not use banned foods in animal husbandry.
