The Criminal Police Department, Nghe An Police has just issued a decision to prosecute Dang Anh Tuan (born 1985), residing in Trung Phuc Cuong commune, Nam Dan district, for the act of "Abuse of trust to appropriate property".
According to documents provided by the police, in February 2020, Dang Anh Tuan intended to go to Dak Nong to do business and trade in wood. Tuan went to Luan Phuong Service and Trading Company Limited (headquartered at 53, Tran Hung Dao Street, Vinh City) to rent a Ford Ranger to go to the Central Highlands for 20 days at a price of 800,000 VND. Driving to Dak Nong for business until February 29, when the car rental contract expired, Tuan asked for a 1-month extension and paid 15 million VND in advance to Mr. Luan. At the same time, through investigation, Tuan imported a large batch of wood believed to be clove wood to his hometown for business. Tuan brought the car to pawn to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh (in Quang Tin commune, Dak R'Lap district, Dak Nong province) to borrow 100 million VND to buy wood.
After pawning the car, Tuan took the money to Ho Chi Minh City to buy 2.5 m3wood and then hired a truck to transport it to Dien Chau. However, when he returned to his hometown, Tuan discovered that it was not clove wood, so he gave the truck company all of the wood instead of the truck rental fee.
In early May 2020, from Dak Nong, Nguyen Ngoc Anh called Tuan to pressure him to pay. At this time, Tuan continued to pawn the car to someone else.
Through Nguyen Ngoc Anh's introduction, Tuan and Anh's couple brought the car.mortgageto Ms. Bach Thi Hang (Dak Ru commune, Dak R'Lap district) for 150 million VND within 1 month. Tuan lied to Ms. Hang that this was his car, so this person trusted him and gave him the money. After receiving the money, Tuan paid Anh 130 million VND, which was the principal and previous interest. Tuan transferred 10 million VND to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Luan to pay for the car rental. Later, Tuan borrowed another 5 million to give to Mr. Luan.
After a long time of overdue car return, Mr. Luan called Tuan but could not reach him. At this time, the incident of Tuan pawning the car in Dak Nong was exposed, Tuan went home to find Mr. Luan, wrote a commitment letter and promised to redeem the car on July 17. However, Tuan continued to disappear and there was no news, so Mr. Luan went to the police station to report.
The Criminal Police Department has urgently investigated and arrested the subject. The Nghe An Police Investigation Agency has also issued a search notice to professional units under the Ministry of Public Security and the Police of provinces and cities nationwide to search for the subject.
After a period of synchronous use of professional measures and active investigation, in early October, the Criminal Police Department discovered the subject hiding in Song Cau town, Phu Yen city. At the police station, the subject confessed to all his crimes.
