Failed to seduce, brother-in-law poured pesticide to take revenge on sister-in-law

On August 1, Loc Ha District Police (Ha Tinh) prosecuted Truong Van Lai (50 years old, local) to investigate the act of Murder.

In connection with the case, the police also prosecuted Nguyen Khac Thong (31 years old) to clarify the act of Fraudulent appropriation of property. Thong was accused of receiving money to pay Lai's sentence after his poisoning of his brother-in-law was discovered.

According to the case file, on the night of May 11, Lai went to the house of his widowed sister-in-law in the same village, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong (48 years old), asking for sex but was refused.

Lai then went to a school where he worked as a security guard and slept, but felt resentful. The 50-year-old man got up and went home, took the bottle of pesticide and went back to his brother-in-law's place. He secretly poured the pesticide down the well and into Mrs. Hong's water tank.

The next morning, Mrs. Hong woke up to get well water for cooking and smelled a strange smell and color. In the kitchen, the widow also discovered that the kettle had a strong smell. Suspecting that someone was trying to harm her, she went to the police to report it.

From the victim's testimony, the police suspected Lai and summoned him to the police station. When questioned, this man admitted to his illegal actions and accused Nguyen Khac Thong of receiving money from his family to "fix" the case he caused.

Lai said that when the poisoning of his brother-in-law was revealed, Thong came to see him and his relatives, boasting that he knew some police officers and promised to find a way to "fix the case" and reduce the sentence. Trusting him, Lai's family sent Thong 25 million VND.

From the above statement, the police clarified Thong's fraudulent behavior.
