Nearly 1,300 athletes participate in Tan Ky District Sports Festival

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 22, Tan Ky District held the opening ceremony of the 8th Sports Festival in 2017.

Attending the event were representatives of the Department of Culture & Sports, leaders of Tan Ky district, district-level departments and organizations, and many local people.

The 8th Tan Ky District Sports Festival in 2017 attracted nearly 1,300 athletes to compete in 8 events such as volleyball, badminton, athletics, stick pushing, tug of war, shuttlecock throwing, crossbow shooting and men's football.

In the opening ceremony, after the parade carrying the national flag, the Olympic flag, and the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, there was a martial arts performance by the Karate martial arts club, a gymnastics performance by the senior citizens' club and students of Tan Ky Town Primary School.

The 8th Tan Ky District Sports Festival is a meaningful activity in mobilizing the entire population to regularly practice sports following the example of great Uncle Ho, improving health, serving study, labor and work, and at the same time, this is also an opportunity to select typical athletes to attend the upcoming Provincial Sports Festival./.
