Nearly 10,000 Nghe An students choose to take the entrance exam to non-public grade 10 or go to vocational school.
(Baonghean.vn) - These are students who have registered their first choice to enter non-public schools, vocational education centers - continuing education centers. The rest will choose to go to vocational school.
The Department of Education and Training has just announced the admission form for the Entrance Exam.Grade 10school year 2024 - 2025.
According to statistics, this year more than 47,000 students registered for schools in the province.
Of these, more than 44,000 students registered to take the entrance exam to grade 10 at public high schools. The remaining, more than 3,000 students, registered their first choice at non-public high schools, vocational education - continuing education centers or continuing education centers in districts, cities and towns. In these cases, students will not have to take the entrance exam but will be admitted directly to the school.
Besides, about 6,000 students also did not register for the 10th grade entrance exam. They may choose to register for vocational schools, go to work or have other options.

Previously, according to the Department of Education and Training, in the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province had 53,829 9th grade students, an increase of 7,249 students compared to the previous school year.
Thus, along with the number of students registering for their first choice in non-public schools, currently in the whole province, the number of students in the categorystreamis about 10,000 students (including non-public or vocational school students). It is expected that this number will increase after the results of the 10th grade entrance exam are released because about 20% of students who fail the public school entrance exam will be forced to go to non-public schools or other educational institutions.

It is not unusual for about 10,000 students to be divided into streams in Nghe An, because each year, only about 75-78% of students in the province will continue to study in grade 10. For example, in the 2023-2024 school year, the province's grade 10 entrance exam reached a rate of 78%, exceeding the Government's streaming regulations (70% for both public and non-public systems). In Vinh city alone, the rate reached 84%, of which, entering the public system reached a rate of 67%.
Regarding the streaming work, before the 10th grade entrance exam this year, the Department of Education and Training sent a document requesting the Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to direct the Department of Education and Training to properly implement the streaming policy as well as create fair opportunities for all students. At the same time, it was clearly stated that all 9th grade students who meet the graduation requirements have the right to take the 10th grade entrance exam.
