Nearly 13,000 Note 7s sold in Vietnam received refunds from Samsung

The return and refund period for 12,633 Galaxy Note 7s sold in the Vietnamese market will last one month from October 18, according to the Competition Management Department.

Information just released by the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that Samsung willconduct product recall and refund for12,633 Galaxy Note 7s were sold in Vietnam from October 18 to November 18. Previously, this mobile device company announced a similar policy worldwide after stopping production and exchangingThis product is new due to a serious battery issue.

While waiting for a refund, consumers who bring the product to Samsung customer care centers will receive a voucher worth 1.5 million VND and be provided with a smartphone product of the company to use.

According to the Competition Management Department, after incidents with the above phone lines in various countries, the agency has actively monitored the manufacturer's recall and refund program and will continue to provide information to consumers in the coming time.

With a supply of about 35%Samsung's total global mobile device output, its factories in Vietnam are predicted to be affected by the suspension of Note 7 production. However, in its most recent announcement, the electronics giant affirmed that Samsung Vietnam's 2016 exports will not be affected much. The jobs of about 110,000 workers will also be guaranteed.

In 2015, the total value of Samsung Vietnam's electronic exports reached 33 billion USD. The company currently has 3 factories in Vietnam.
