Student Nguyen Vu Manh - Cua Lo High School said: Currently, our families are still orienting us to go to schools such as economics and law schools, "hot" schools. However, we want to study at schools based on our passion and interests, but we have not been oriented on which school to study at or how to study. Meanwhile, the lessons in class mainly revolve around cultural studies.

According to information from the conference, currently in the vocational field alone, there are over 800 majors and occupations trained at intermediate level and about 500 majors and occupations trained at college level. Therefore, there are many career opportunities for students after graduation. In addition, a positive sign is that currently 85% of students at vocational schools have jobs with high incomes after graduation.

Many policies for vocational students

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Do Nang Khanh - Deputy Director General of the General Department of Vocational Education affirmed: Vocational education plays an important role in the socio-economic development of the country, and is the address for supplying skilled labor to the labor market.

However, in Vietnam, due to the psychology of preferring degrees, for a long time there has been a situation of too many teachers and not enough workers, the unemployment rate after graduating from university is high with about 250,000 people each year, causing waste of time, costs, opportunities for individuals and society, putting pressure on the economy and waste at the social level.

Currently, the Law on Education (amended) passed by the National Assembly has solved many practical problems. In particular, the provisions on articulation, streaming, and career guidance are clearly expressed and ensure openness according to world trends. In particular, the concepts, principles, streaming, and articulation have been clarified, creating a legal corridor for implementation in practice, ensuring equal learning and development opportunities for everyone.

The Government and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs are also having many mechanisms and policies on career guidance and streaming to nearly double the number of high school graduates entering vocational training in the next few years.

With the above meaning, the Career Counseling and Vocational Education Admissions Festival will help students understand the world of careers, form professional personality and ethics, and create a mindset ready to participate in the industrialization and modernization of the country in the integration period.
