Nearly 300 athletes participate in the national pole pushing and tug of war championship
(Baonghean.vn) - This is a tournament within the national competition system, held annually.
On the afternoon of April 6, at Cua Lo Town Sports Gymnasium, the opening ceremony of the 17th National Pole Pushing Championship and the 11th National Tug of War Championship - 2023 took place.
Attending the ceremony were representatives of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Culture and Sports and Cua Lo town, along with the athletes participating in the tournament.

The National Push Stick and Tug of War Championship is a competition within the national competition system, held annually.
This year's tournament was held in Cua Lo town on the occasion of the whole country solemnly organizing activities to celebrate the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2023) and International Labor Day (May 1), towards the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday. In addition to the nature of a sports tournament, this activity also has the meaning of contributing to educating revolutionary traditions and patriotism for all participating athletes.

At the same time, this is also an opportunity to promote and introduce the image and people of Nghe An in general, and the Cua Lo beach tourism season in particular, to athletes, referees and audiences nationwide.
The tournament was attended by nearly 300 athletes from 19 provinces and cities, bringing together many strong localities with movements to develop the Stick Pushing and Tug of War sports nationwide.

From April 5 to 12, the pole-pushing competitions will take place. Athletes will compete in 24 weight categories, including 12 for men and 12 for women.
From April 12 to 22, tug of war matches will take place.
The tournament is scheduled to close on April 22.
