Nearly 400 delegates attended the investment promotion conference in Nghe An province in Ho Chi Minh City.

On the morning of September 20, Nghe An province held the 2019 Investment Promotion Conference in Nghe An province in Ho Chi Minh City. The conference was attended by nearly 400 delegates from agencies, departments and branches of Nghe An province and Ho Chi Minh City, consular agencies of countries, international organizations, domestic and foreign business associations, and investors.

Attending the conference on the side of Ho Chi Minh City were comrades: Nguyen Thanh Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Le Thanh Liem - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee.

Introducing and promoting the potential and advantages of Nghe An

The conference aims to introduce and promote the potentials, advantages, opportunities and preferential investment policies of Nghe An province, thereby attracting more domestic and foreign investors to pay attention, learn about and invest in Nghe An province.

Accordingly, Nghe An's Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2018 ranked 19th out of 63 provinces and cities, up 9 places compared to 2014. Nghe An's Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) in 2018 ranked 4th out of 63 provinces and cities. The above indexes show the confidence of businesses and investors in the province's business environment.

Nghe An province is currently focusing on calling for 117 investment projects in the fields of infrastructure, industry, construction, agriculture, trade, services, tourism, etc.

Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy delivered a speech sending many messages to domestic and foreign investors, affirming that the province is making efforts to become a reliable and attractive address for investors.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong affirmed: With special affection for the homeland of beloved Uncle Ho, in the coming time, the City named after Uncle Ho will accompany the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An province to join hands in building, so that Nghe An will soon become a prosperous and developed locality of the North Central region and the whole country.

The conference also listened to the enthusiastic and frank opinions and sharing of delegates representing organizations and businesses that have, are and will be investing in Nghe An province.

At the Conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy and Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong presented Commemorative Medals to honor 7 investors investing in Nghe An, including: Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company - Vinamilk; Hoa Sen Nghe An One Member Co., Ltd.; Masan Group Joint Stock Company; Saigon Tourist Corporation (Saigontourist); Tourism and Transport Marketing Joint Stock Company (Vietravel); Saigon - Song Lam Beer Joint Stock Company; Global Logistics Services Co., Ltd.

At the 2019 Investment Promotion Conference in Nghe An Province in Ho Chi Minh City, Nghe An provincial leaders awarded investment certificates to 2 projects and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on investment cooperation for 3 projects with a total capital of 3,759 billion VND.

Nghe An Investment Promotion and Support Center (IPSC) and Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC); Vinh Medical University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy; Vinh Medical University and Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, Ho Chi Minh City; Nghe An Provincial Department of Tourism and Masan Consumer Goods Joint Stock Company signed a cooperation agreement.

The organizing committee also organized a Q&A session, directly answering questions from businesses with the participation of provincial leaders, departments, branches and businesses that have invested in Nghe An.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy affirmed that the results achieved through the conference are important premises, promising to create new, fast and sustainable development steps for Nghe An province in the coming time.
