Nearly 5 billion VND to support Nghe An students affected by storm No. 3

On the morning of August 22, at Luu Kien Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Tuong Duong Commune, Nghe An Province, the program "Accompanying students in flood-affected areas - Helping them go to school" was organized with the coordination of the Party Committee of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Provincial Police, People's Police Academy, People's Police University, Department of Education and Training and many accompanying and sponsoring units.

Attending the event were representatives of the leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, departments, branches, local authorities, armed forces and volunteer organizations.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee donated funds for school repairs, housing construction, solar power systems, and many necessities, medicines, books, and school supplies with a total value of nearly 5 billion VND.

Storm No. 3 caused serious damage in Nghe An: 4 people died, nearly 3,000 houses were damaged, thousands of hectares of crops were destroyed. The education sector alone suffered great losses with 40 schools flooded, 13 schools had their roofs blown off, thousands of learning equipment, desks, chairs, books were swept away, total damage amounted to tens of billions of VND.

In that context, the program not only contributes to overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, but also spreads the spirit of solidarity, mutual love and support. The gifts given to students are not only material support, but also a great source of encouragement, adding confidence and determination for them to confidently go to school in the new school year.
