Previously, on August 26, PC 47 received information that Lien was transporting a large amount of drugs on train SE7 from Hanoi to the southern provinces for consumption.
After verifying the information, PC47 Department coordinated with Department C47 (Ministry of Public Security) to set up a working group to monitor and arrest this woman. That very night, nearly 50 experienced detectives from PC47 Department and Department C47 were mobilized to lie in wait at locations where the North-South train could stop.
On the train, many police officers disguised themselves as passengers to secretly monitor the movements of the 39-year-old woman. “However, this person kept moving and changing seats, so we often lost track of her. It was not until 9:30 a.m. on August 27, when the train arrived at Thap Cham station (Phan Rang city, Ninh Thuan province), that the task force discovered Lien’s exact location,” said a detective.
When the train stopped, the detectives suddenly came to check and discovered 16 packages of crystal meth (total weight 1.6 kg) in Lien's luggage. The authorities also temporarily seized the evidence, including: 10 million VND and 3 mobile phones to serve the investigation.
Lien confessed that she transported drugs for consumption in the central provinces, the Central Highlands and Ho Chi Minh City.
