Nearly 500 athletes attend the 2020 Traditional Sports Festival of the Education and Training Sector

On the afternoon of November 13, at the Vietnam - Korea Sports Center (Vinh City), the Department of Education and Training and the Nghe An Education Trade Union held the opening ceremony of the 8th Traditional Sports Festival of the Education and Training Sector.

Attending the event were comrade Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training; representatives of relevant departments and branches, along with a large number of athletes and fans.

This is a practical activity to celebrate the country's major holidays, welcome the success of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, towards the 13th National Party Congress, especially to celebrate the 38th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20).

This year's final round of the Traditional Sports Festival of the Education and Training sector had 32 participating teams with nearly 500 athletes representing more than 53,000 cadres, teachers, and workers of the entire sector participating in the final round.

Officially starting from November 10, the teams will compete in the following sports: Women's volleyball, men's volleyball and men's soccer. In which, men's soccer will take place at the Vietnam - Korea Sports Center and women's volleyball will take place at the Nghe An Province Boarding Ethnic Minority High School.

Right after the opening ceremony was an exciting men's volleyball match between the Department of Education and Training of Ky Son district and the Department of Education and Training of Yen Thanh district.

The finals and closing ceremony take place on November 15.
