Nearly 500 village health workers trained in dengue fever prevention

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 7, Yen Thanh District Medical Center provided training on monitoring, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of dengue fever for medical staff in villages and hamlets in the district.

During 2 days, nearly 500 village health workers were updated on the dengue fever situation in the area by leaders and professional staff of the District Preventive Medicine Center; and were instructed on basic knowledge and skills in dengue fever prevention communication.

Training contents include: main characteristics of the disease; concept of dengue fever outbreak; causative agent; signs of the disease; ways to prevent the disease; instructions for epidemiological surveillance; methods of disease diagnosis; how to handle cases, treatment measures...

Through the training, trainees are also equipped with basic skills to participate in health education and communication activities in the locality, contributing to controlling, preventing and containing dengue fever, protecting the health of individuals, families and the community./.
