Nearly 600 12th grade students are exempted or have their subjects reduced in the 2021 High School Graduation Exam
(Baonghean.vn) - The policy of exempting and reducing subjects in the 2021 High School Graduation Exam is applied to students with excellent academic achievements or students belonging to special groups.
Department of Education and TrainingNghe An has publicly announced the list of candidates exempted from the 2021 High School Graduation Exam.
Accordingly, in the upcoming exam, Nghe An has 70 candidates exempted from all exams inHigh School Graduation Exam 2021, including three compulsory subjects: Literature - Mathematics - Foreign Language or a combination of Natural Sciences or Social Sciences. Of these, 8 students are students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and 3 students are students of Vinh University High School for the Gifted who are members of the national team selection to participate in regional and international Olympic competitions. These are all high-achieving students selected from the 2021 National Excellent Student Competition.
The remaining 59 candidates are students with disabilities or severe disabilities and are exempted from the exam according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The Department of Education and Training also announced the list of 524 candidates exempted from the Foreign Language exam.
Previously, according to the regulations of this year's exam, there were 2 subjects exempted from the Foreign Language subject: Members of the national team participating in the International Olympic competition in Foreign Language according to the decision of the Minister of Education and Training.
The second subject is candidates who have one of the Foreign Language certificates (same or different from the Foreign Language subject being studied at a valid high school), valid until at least July 6, 2021 and achieving the minimum score as prescribed (for English, TOEFL ITP 450 points, TOEFL iPT 45 points or IELTS 4.0 points).
According to this standard, Vinh University High School for the Gifted is the school with the largest number of exempted students with 193 students. The remaining schools are Huynh Thuc Khang High School with 98 students, Ha Huy Tap High School with 29 students, Le Viet Thuat High School with 32 students, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted with 76 students. The remaining students are concentrated in: Nguyen Truong To High School, Hermann Gmeiner School, Cua Lo High School, Cua Lo 2 High School, Quy Chau High School, Quy Hop 2 High School, Quy Hop High School, Quynh Luu 1 High School, Nguyen Duc Mau High School, Tan Ky High School, Phan Dang Luu High School, Dien Chau 2 High School, Dien Chau 3 High School, Nguyen Xuan On High School.
Notably, in this list, in addition to candidates exempted from the exam due to having an English certificate, there are many candidates with other foreign language certificates such as French and Chinese.
According to the exam regulations, candidates exempted from the foreign language exam will be given 10 points for this exam to be considered for recognition of high school graduation.
In addition, candidates can use this 10-point foreign language score to apply to some universities that accept this exam score according to each school's own regulations.
