(Baonghean.vn) - On September 25th, the People's Court of Vinh City held a first-instance trial for a theft case against 11 defendants, led by Nguyen Hoang Hung, born in 1985, residing in Hamlet 8, Lien Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District.

According to the indictment, between August 24, 2014, and September 20, 2014, Nguyen Hoang Hung colluded closely with Pham Xuan Ha, Nguyen Ngoc Hieu, Nguyen Nhan Kien (Hamlet 8, Lien Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District), Tran Huu Quy, Luu Van Thai, Dang Khac Trung (Dien Loi - Dien Chau), Dang Van Hoa (Dien Thang - Dien Chau), and Bui Van Hoang (Tan Phu - Dong Nai) to commit 52 motorcycle thefts in Vinh City and the districts of Quy Chau, Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, and Que Phong. After stealing the motorcycles, the suspects sold them to Nguyen Thi Bang in Hamlet 6, Hien Son Commune, Do Luong District, and sent them via passenger bus to Hoang Van Hoan in Ho Chi Minh City for resale. The total value of the stolen property was 762,800,000 VND.

The court sentenced the defendants to a total of nearly 62 years in prison, including 11 years for Nguyen Hoang Hung, 10 years for Luu Van Thai and 10 years for Hoang Van Hoan. The remaining defendants received sentences ranging from 7 months to nearly 9 years in prison. Nguyen Ngoc Hieu received a 7-month suspended sentence with a 14-month probation period.
