Nearly 70 tractor-trailers carrying ore were fined for violating traffic safety on National Highway 7.
(Baonghean.vn) - Through the actual understanding of the area, as well as from the people's feedback, the special task force of the Traffic Police Department, with the participation of the Mobile Police, coordinated with the Road Traffic Police Team No. 2 to patrol and promptly handle violations related to tractor-trailers carrying ore.
Nearly 70 tractor trailers were handled
Being present with the working group on a day in early October on National Highway 7, it was easy to see that there were many trucks carrying ore on the route. According to the schedule, after taking ore from Laos and transporting it through Nam Can International Border Gate, these trucks followed National Highway 7 (passing through Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son districts...) to Cua Lo Port or to other localities. In reality, because the road surface was quite narrow, many locations were winding, while the tractor trailers carrying ore were large and long, each time they circulated, they almost occupied the entire lane.

According to actual records, after 1 day, the working group handled 5 violations related to tractor trucks carrying ore. For example, at 12:40 p.m. at Km 87+400, the working group drew up a record for driver D.N, residing in Do Luong district, driving a tractor truck with license plate 37H-017xx, violating the order of road markings. Then, at 13:25 p.m., also at the same location, a record was drawn up for driver NVT, residing in Quynh Luu district, driving a tractor truck with license plate 37R-045, violating the order of road markings.
At 14:05, the working group issued a ticket to driver T.D.A, driving a tractor-trailer with license plate 26C-036xx, for speeding over 10 km/h at Km 86+400. According to driver T.D.A, due to traffic congestion at the border gate, it has been 3 days since he completed the entry procedures to transport goods from Laos to Vietnam, so he was a bit impatient while traveling and violated the speed limit.
It is observed that most drivers strictly comply with the inspection. Many drivers said that violations such as not obeying road markings, speeding, etc. are mainly due to subjectivity. As for overloading violations, they no longer occur because the correct weight is required to enter the country, not to mention that the traffic police also check after customs clearance.

According to the Provincial Traffic Police Department, from July 20 to present, the special patrol team of the Provincial Traffic Police Department, in coordination with the Mobile Police Force and Road Traffic Police Team No. 2, has detected and handled more than 400 violations. Of which, there were 27 cases of illegal stopping and parking by tractor-trailers, 26 cases of disobeying road markings, 11 cases of speeding, and 2 cases of drug use by drivers.
Continue patrolling and handling strictly
It is known that, implementing Plan No. 74/KH-CAT-PC08-PV01 dated February 28, 2023 of the Provincial Police on mobilizing forces to coordinate patrolling, controlling, and handling violations of overloaded and oversized cargo, changing the size of the vehicle's body, not complying with road markings, wrong road section, lane, stopping and parking in violation of regulations, speeding, alcohol concentration, and drugs in the body in Nghe An province. The Traffic Police Department has organized and implemented synchronously on all routes and management areas. In particular, National Highway 7 and the roads connecting to National Highway 7 are identified as one of the key routes, with the goal of handling violations related to tractor trucks carrying ore from Laos.
According to Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Trung - Deputy Captain of Road Traffic Police Team No. 2, if in the past there was still a situation of tractor-trailers carrying ore from Laos being overloaded, now, with the 24/7 patrol and control of the Traffic Police force, not to mention that right after passing through Nam Can International Border Gate, the vehicle has been weighed, so the violation of overloading no longer occurs. However, in reality, tractor-trailers carrying ore from Laos still violate errors related to stopping, parking illegally, not obeying road markings, speeding... These are errors that easily lead to traffic accidents. Therefore, the special task force of the Traffic Police Department, with the participation of the Mobile Police in coordination with Road Traffic Police Team No. 2, determined that along with increasing propaganda, organizing business owners and drivers to sign a contract to comply with the Traffic Law, it is necessary to increase patrol work, strictly handle and in fact the number of violations is decreasing day by day.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Khuong - residing in Xa Luong commune (Tuong Duong) said: The situation of tractor-trailers carrying ore running at high speed like before has been improved, thanks to the increased handling by the traffic police. However, many people whose houses are adjacent to National Highway 7, in Truong Son village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, said that the situation of heavy trucks parked along the road is still common, sometimes stretching for kilometers up to the Nam Can International Border Gate area, not only limiting the visibility of other vehicles, but also affecting the daily life of local people.
Talking to us, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nam Hong - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department, Provincial Police, said: Based on the plan of the Provincial Police, the department continues to thoroughly instruct officers and soldiers of the special task force to coordinate with the Road Traffic Police Team No. 2 to patrol and handle strictly, with the viewpoint of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions". The goal is to reduce traffic accidents, at the same time, thereby correcting and raising awareness of law compliance of transport businesses and drivers.

Regarding the situation of heavy trucks parked along the road, especially in Truong Son village, Nam Can commune, according to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nam Hong, the reason is that the means of transporting iron ore from Xieng Khouang province and barite ore from Vientiane province transiting Vietnam to Cua Lo Port has increased. Every day, there are an average of 250 - 300 trips of vehicles entering and exiting the border gate, along with that, the road infrastructure on both sides of Nam Can International Border Gate is narrow and degraded. Infrastructure and yards have not been invested to meet the needs of vehicles and goods gathering and waiting for procedures... This is the content that was clearly pointed out at a recent working session on October 10, between the interdisciplinary delegation of Xieng Khouang province (Laos) and Nghe An province, in which the Traffic Police force also participated.
At the conference, the two sides agreed to propose to the competent authorities of each side to soon survey and supplement the planning in the direction of maximizing the scope of the border gate area and border market area without affecting the border line and landmarks, and to invest funds to build infrastructure to ensure that vehicles and goods can gather and wait for exit, entry, import and export procedures of each side. It is proposed that the competent authorities invest in and upgrade National Highway 7 at both ends of the border gate to ensure that vehicles can stop and park to wait to enter the procedure area and other vehicles can move smoothly...
