Nearly half of US voters support impeaching Trump

According to the latest HuffPost/YouGov poll conducted between December 20 and December 22 with 1,000 adults in the US, nearly half of voters expressed their approval of the House of Representatives' recent decision to impeach President Donald Trump.

The poll found that 49% of voters approved of impeachment, while 42% disapproved. The remaining 9% were undecided or had other opinions.

The poll also found that 47% of voters believe President Trump should be impeached, compared to 42% who believe he should not be impeached. The remaining 11% are unsure of their views.

The poll also revealed a clear partisan divide in impeachment. 89% of Democratic voters surveyed said they approved of impeachment, while 85% of Republican or Republican-leaning voters said they disapproved.

The US House of Representatives voted in a historic vote last Wednesday to pass two articles of impeachment against President Trump, paving the way for a trial in the Senate.

The trial is expected to take place next January, but the date has not been determined. Up to this point, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi has refused to send the results of the President's impeachment to the Senate. This move is an attempt to put pressure and gain an advantage in the battle with the Republicans, demanding a fair trial in the Senate.

For President Donald Trump to be removed from office, more than two-thirds of the Republican-led Senate members would need to vote unanimously in favor of his removal at the upcoming Senate trial.

The latest HuffPost/YouGov poll follows a recent survey conducted by Politico and Morning Consult showing that 52% of voters support the House of Representatives' decision to impeach President Trump and 51% support his removal./.
