Meet the owner of the Asian Physics Silver Medal
(Baonghean.vn) -He is a gentle, quiet student with a great passion for Physics and scientific research.
Returning from the Russian Federation, Tran Huu Binh Minh - a 12A3 student at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, made his family, friends, and teachers happy with the Silver Medal in Physics. This result also helped him get a ticket to attend the International Physics Olympiad in Indonesia.
Tran Huu Binh Minh makes a good impression on everyone from the first meeting because of his gentle face and humble personality. Since childhood, he has been a boy who rarely shows himself and has only one hobby: scientific research.
Minh's family has two brothers, Minh is the eldest son. Because his father is a soldier, stationed in Nha Trang, there are only the three of them at home. Minh's mother is also a teacher and teaches far from home, so she doesn't have much time to tutor her children. On the contrary, she teaches her children in her own way. "When he was little, I saw that he liked to watch TV, especially science programs. Sometimes he would sit and watch for hours, but I didn't forbid him, I just told him to watch at the right time," Minh's mother shared.
Since primary school, in addition to participating in competitions for excellent students in Math and Vietnamese, Minh also participated in chess and other talent competitions.

With the same concept of "not creating pressure" for children in studying, Minh was able to freely develop his abilities. In junior high school, studying at Dang Thai Mai Secondary School, in addition to his passion for Physics, Minh had another passion: Informatics. As a result, in ninth grade, in addition to winning the second prize in Physics in the Provincial Excellent Student Competition, Minh also won the first prize in the Provincial Non-Professional Informatics Competition for Young People and won the National Encouragement Prize.
However, later on, because “Physics is my passion, studying Physics has many useful and practical things for life, can satisfy the desire for discovery”, Minh decided to choose Physics as his main direction. This was also the motivation for Minh to register for the entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted with a very convincing result of “second place”.
Interestingly, despite his excellent academic performance, Minh rarely attends extra classes. Apart from the review sessions in class, he spends most of his time self-studying and researching through documents.

Also at this school, right from the first days of the school year, Tran Huu Binh Minh was tutored by teacher Tran Van Nga. After nearly a year, at the end of grade 10, discovering Minh's ability and passion, the teacher selected Minh for the national team.
Not letting his teacher down, a year later, although he was only an 11th grader, Minh won second prize in the National Physics Competition for Excellent Students and was selected for the second round of the national team to participate in the Olympic competitions. However, Minh failed the first time he participated.
Looking back on the past, Binh Minh also confessed that "it was not easy, there were even times when I thought I was going to be eliminated. However, I was also very lucky because I always had the support of my family and friends, especially teacher Tran Van Nga."
Talking about his teacher, Minh shared a very touching memory: I remember there was a time when we were studying for an exam at his house. That day, even though it was dark and raining heavily, knowing that some of us were studying late and hungry, he still took the car to buy dinner for the whole group.

After that, in every journey Minh and the team have gone through, Mr. Nga has always been by their side. Even at the Asian Physics Olympiad, after knowing the results, he encouraged his students with very meaningful words on his personal page: "In the coldest city in the world, everything is harsh from living to studying and taking exams. Even though it may not be as expected, daring to take steps on ice and snow is also a memorable experience and more confident in hardship. After the snow melts, the seeds of life will rise to the blue sky with a new season of hope."
The belief in a “new season of hope” is also the biggest goal that Minh and the members of the National Physics Team are aiming for at this time. The journey will certainly be full of difficulties, but believe that with all his efforts, with determination... hopefully student Tran Huu Binh Minh will continue to make new miracles./.
