(Baonghean.vn) - The male student who was admitted directly to the University has a very impressive academic record. However, he asserts that he is not a "bookworm", the secret to studying is how to allocate time reasonably, study with concentration, master the textbook knowledge and find advanced exercises.

In early August, the family of Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Thang, Policy Assistant of Division 324 in Hamlet 6, Da Son Commune, Do Luong District welcomed many relatives and friends to visit and congratulate their eldest son Pham Tran Anh on being admitted directly to the Faculty of Computer Science, Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

For his peers, Tran Anh's direct admission to university was not surprising. From grade 1 to grade 12, Anh had very impressive academic results. In grade 8, this male student won second prize in the provincial-level Youth Informatics competition and first prize in the Hanoi Open English Math competition. In grade 9, Tran Anh won first prize in Math and second prize in the provincial-level Youth Informatics competition, and was in the top group for the Phan Boi Chau School's specialized Math class. He received scholarships for all three years of high school. In grade 11, he won first prize in provincial-level Math. In grade 12, he won a Silver Medal in Math for the North Central provinces and second prize in national Math...

When asked about his study secrets, Tran Anh smiled and shared: "I have been passionate about Math since 4th grade, but I am not a "bookworm". My study time is less than my friends'. However, thanks to reasonable time allocation, I have time to play and participate in extracurricular activities."

According to Tran Anh, in class he listens to the teacher and takes full notes, then does the exercises in the textbook in class, and studies advanced math at home. What is special is that Tran Anh rarely takes extra classes, but mainly studies in groups and goes online, accessing math forums to exchange experiences and solve difficult problems. Tran Anh participates in many exams and is not afraid of failure because through each exam he will train his courage and experience in doing the test.

Talking to us, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Thang - Pham Tran Anh's father said: The family saw that he was passionate about studying Math from a young age and created favorable conditions in terms of material and time for him to pursue it. Neither of his parents are teachers, so it was difficult to teach him, all thanks to his efforts. Today, he was admitted directly to university, the family is very happy but this is just the first step, hoping that he will continue to study and practice better in his years at university.

It is known that Pham Tran Anh's father works in a combat unit and is often away from home, so all the housework and raising the children is done by his mother. Fortunately, Tran Anh has been self-motivated in his studies since he was a child. In addition, during his free time, this male student diligently helps his mother with many household chores such as cooking, washing dishes, cleaning the house, and tutoring and guiding his younger brother in his studies. In addition to studying culture, Tran Anh also participates in martial arts, guitar, swimming, and chess. At school, this male student is also an active youth union officer.

Confiding in us, Mr. Dau Hoang Hung - Math teacher at Phan Boi Chau School said: "I taught Tran Anh Math for 3 years in high school. During his studies, he was diligent, hard-working, and progressive; took full notes, and often discussed lessons with his group mates. When faced with difficult math problems, he rarely gave up but tried to find a way to solve them. Studying in a math-specialized environment with many talented students, Tran Anh was not the most outstanding person, but he was always humble in learning from his teachers and classmates, knowing how to accumulate knowledge for himself. When doing tests and exams, Tran Anh was very careful and meticulous in finding the best way to solve them."

Saying goodbye to Tran Anh and his family while everyone was in joy and preparing for the 18-year-old boy to embark on a new journey, he revealed that: I will try to practice my English speaking and writing skills more fluently to "hunt" for scholarships to study abroad because exploring knowledge of information technology has been my dream since I was a child./.
