Meeting with former officials from Nghe Tinh province who were assigned to reinforce Son La province.

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of June 18th, in Vinh City, nearly 100 former officials from Nghe Tinh who were assigned to Son La province held a meeting to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Nghe Tinh delegation's arrival in Son La province (1979-2014). Comrades Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province; and Tran Thi Kim Hoa - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Mass Mobilization Department of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee, attended and gave speeches. Leaders of Son La province also sent a congratulatory letter to the meeting.

Before and after the first day of the Northern border war (March 17, 1979), 120 cadres from various sectors of Nghe Tinh province, divided into two groups, departed for Son La province to take up their duties as directed by the Central Government. Despite facing many difficulties and hardships, with the support of the Party Committee and people of Son La, the Nghe Tinh cadres assigned to various positions upheld the revolutionary traditions of their heroic Soviet homeland, striving to excellently fulfill their assigned tasks. The efforts of the Nghe Tinh cadres contributed to the political stability and socio-economic development achievements of Son La province during the border war period and in the subsequent period of reform.

After completing their mission, most of the seconded officers returned to Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces to work until their retirement. Even now, despite their advanced age, members of the seconded team to Son La regularly communicate with and encourage their children and grandchildren to participate in social work.

Speaking at the meeting, comrades Le Xuan Dai and Tran Thi Kim Hoa reported on some of the great achievements that Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces have made in the fields of economy, society, culture, education, and national defense and security in recent times. They stated that this year's meeting of Nghe Tinh officials assigned to Son La also serves to encourage young officials currently working in the two provinces to be ready to respond should a worst-case scenario arise, given China's blatant violation of Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa islands.
