(Baonghean.vn) -On May 12th, the Nghe An Provincial Police Department organized a meeting with 45 exemplary delegates representing 1,130 influential and outstanding individuals from ethnic minority communities in Nghe An province.

Members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Thai Van Hang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Luong Quang Kinh - Head of the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Committee; and Major General Nguyen Xuan Lam - Director of the Provincial Police Department attended and delivered guiding speeches.

Earlier, the Organizing Committee arranged for a delegation of influential figures from ethnic minority communities to lay wreaths and report their achievements to President Ho Chi Minh at Ho Chi Minh Square. Before his sacred spirit, the delegates pledged to continue encouraging their communities to maintain and further develop their faith in the Party and the State, enthusiastically participate in production emulation, organize cultural life well, and actively contribute to maintaining national security and defense, and building new rural areas.

45 delegates representing 1,130 influential and exemplary individuals from ethnic minority communities in Nghe An province are shining examples, caring for the community's interests, serving as centers of solidarity, and providing support for the community. These village elders, community leaders, and influential figures have encouraged their descendants and relatives to actively study, increase labor and production, and apply scientific and technological advancements to livestock farming and crop cultivation. Many village elders and community leaders actively encourage their families, descendants, and the people in their villages and hamlets to not believe or heed the propaganda of hostile forces and malicious individuals, and to cooperate in building a cultural life, contributing to preserving the customs and traditions of their ethnic groups.

The team of influential individuals within ethnic minority communities has also played a significant role, always taking the lead in assisting the police force in fulfilling its nhiệm vụ of ensuring security and order in mountainous and ethnic minority areas; mobilizing the people to participate in mass movements to protect national security in the locality; providing the police force with many important sources of information serving the work of ensuring national security; helping to resolve complex disputes and complaints; assisting the police force in gathering information, investigating and handling cases of violations of social order and safety in mountainous and ethnic minority areas, especially crimes related to the storage, trading and use of narcotics, theft, human trafficking; mobilizing the surrender of hundreds of weapons and explosives of various types; and rehabilitating and educating drug addicts in the community…

At the meeting, Comrade Thai Van Hang and Major General Nguyen Xuan Lam commended the positive contributions of village elders and influential figures among ethnic minority communities to socio-economic development, especially in the "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life in Residential Areas" campaign over the past year. The leaders urged the delegates to continue to uphold and maintain their exemplary roles in labor and production emulation, economic development, and the preservation of ethnic traditions and cultural identity, eliminating outdated customs; to coordinate with the government and the Fatherland Front at all levels to promote a civilized lifestyle, effectively resolve conflicts and disputes within the community, and remain vigilant against subversive plots by hostile forces; and to maintain national defense and security.

On this occasion, 45 influential figures from ethnic minority communities, including 12 representatives from the Hmong, 20 from the Thai, 4 from the Khmu, 1 from the Tay Poong, 1 from the Hoa, 1 from the Dan Lai, and 1 from the Thanh, received gifts from provincial leaders and the Provincial Police. Following the meeting, the delegation will embark on a 5-day tour of Hanoi and several northern provinces.
